FIBONACCI'S FANTASIA

An example of our creative approach to math education.

This original video was inspired by our lesson on Math and Galaxies. It is an example of how a simple math concept, so simple that a junior-level student can easily grasp it, can connect to something as wondrous as the spiral shape of a galaxy.

Students in the junior level (grade 4-6) learned how to generate the Fibonacci Sequence, and in turn draw the Golden Spiral based on the numbers from the sequence.

The music in the video is also based on the sequence! The melody plays the following notes: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, in the key of C Major. This concept will be explained and experimented with in our lesson "Math and Music", coming up in 2019 :)
